Dear La Follette Alumni, Parents, Staff and Friends,

Can you believe that La Follette High School is 50 years old? For many of us La Follette brings back great memories and a lasting appreciation for the positive impact upon our life. Whether it was a teacher, principal, coach or friend many people made our time at La Follette special. With this in mind, a “Wall of Honor” is being built in recognition of La Follette’s 50th Anniversary. And you can be part of this by nominating and voting with your donations for those noteworthy La Follette Lancers.

Here is how it works: Make a nomination with a pledge. Once a person reaches $500 in pledges they will become a Lancer 50th nominee and posted on the 50th anniversary web page and Facebook page. All nominees who receive at least $5,000 in pledges will be included on the Wall of Honor. The Wall of Honor will be on the brick wall opposite the snack bar in the commons area of La Follette.

We are teaming with the La Follette Capital Fund (LCF) to take your pledges. The donations will go to the following projects as selected by Sean Storch, La Follette’s Principal, for La Follette’s 50th anniversary:

  • Grow the La Follette Individual Endowment Fund to more than $100,000. The endowment fund provides funds for grant requests from teachers for projects that enhance their ability to teach. The grants are made on an annual basis after review and selection. Currently La Follette’s endowment fund is $93,000, the second lowest of all Madison High Schools!

You will also be personally recognized for your support of La Follette’s Wall of Honor:

  • A $250 gift will purchase a seat in the Vander Meulen Auditorium, and include a dedication to a student, family member, or friend on an engraved brass seat plaque.
  • A gift of $500 or more will receive permanent recognition in the Commons area.
  • A gift of $1,000 or more will receive permanent recognition in the Commons area and an engraved seat plaque.
  • A gift of $2,500 or more will receive permanent recognition in the Welcome Center and an engraved seat plaque.
  • Gifts of $5,000 or more will also receive recognition in the Welcome Center on a special 50th anniversary plaque with several exciting options for naming and recognition.
  • A multiyear pledge is an affordable way to recognize La Follette High School’s 50th anniversary. A donation of $250 paid over four years is a great way to attain the $1,000 level.
